The 2019 Dobson Cup is McGill University’s flagship startup competition hosted by the Dobson Center for Entrepreneurship and sponsored by the National Bank. This year, over 100 teams competed for various prizes in 1 of the 4 tracks including: Innovation Driven Enterprise, Small and Medium Enterprise, Social Enterprise, and Health Sciences. Among these teams, Observe Agriculture, competed in the finals against the top 10 startups of the Innovation Driven Enterprise and won a prize.
For the last month, our team at Observe Agriculture has been working day-in-and day-out on this competition, hoping to secure seed funding to further the company’s progress and development. With the conclusion of the competition last week, Co-founders of Observe Agriculture Mohamed Debbagh (CEO) and Roberto Buelvas (CTO) were awarded the prize for “The Food and Agribusiness Convergent Innovation Prize”! This specific prize was designated for a startup that “fosters individual behavior change and societal transformation by instilling social and environmental objectives of agriculture, food product development, nutrition and health into business models while improving economic viability of efforts focused on social benefit”. We are honored to receive this prize and are more inspired than ever to keep pushing our company forward into the next milestones.
